The Health Budget scorecard evaluates key budget performance indicators in terms of transparency and timeliness of budget releases, citizens/CSOs participation and resource allocation to the health sector.
The Bauchi state Accountability Mechanism for Maternal and Newborn Health (BaSAM) commends the State Government for allocating over 15% of the state budget to health.
But calls on the State Government to:
- Ensure timely releases of capital budget to health Agencies and Ministry of Health
- Sustain participation of communities and CSOs in the annual budget planning process
- Ensure releases of over 70% of the capital budget.
