This scorecard was produced by the Bauchi State Accountability Mechanism for Maternal and Newborn Health (BaSAM) in December 2017, with support from MamaYe-Evidence for Action.
The scorecard tracks maternal and perinatal deaths in secondary health facilities of the state to determine the cause with the aim of strengthening the system.
Based on findings from the MPDSR Scorecard, BaSAM ask Bauchi State Ministry of health to:
Strengthen the weak capacity of facility MPDSR staff by conducting training on MPDSR
Solve high attrition of secondary health facility staff
Print data capturing and reporting tools and forms, and distribute to all health facilities
Strengthen the weak monitoring and supervision of MPDSR facilities.
