Sierra Leone Health Budget Tracking Scorecard 2013
This scorecard was produced by the health budget tracking consortium,, a group of civil society and non-governmental organisations. It highlights commitments, achievements, and shortcomings in the health budget in Sierra Leone in 2013.
As shown on the scorecard, the amount spent on health in Sierra Leone is below the amount of 15% of the total annual budget that the government promised to spend. In addition, the scorecard shows that allocated funds are not getting to where they are most needed on time.
Te scorecard highlights how adequate and timely spending on health is important for sustaining progress made in improving the health of mothers and babies.
The scorecard calls on the government to increase the budget for health and make sure that funds are disbursed on time.
