IDEAS (Informed Decisions for Actions) aims to improve the health and survival of mothers and babies through generating evidence to inform policy and practice. Working in Ethiopia, North-Eastern Nigeria and the state of Uttar Pradesh in India, IDEAS uses measurement, learning and evaluation to find out what works, why and how in maternal and newborn health programmes.IDEAS is funded between 2010 and 2015 by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.The IDEAS team is primarily based in London with 3 staff working overseas, in Ethiopia, North-Eastern Nigeria and Uttar Pradesh. IDEAS works closely with two kinds of partner in each country:Project partner: one of several projects funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation implementing innovations to improve maternal and newborn health within the existing health system.Measurement, Learning and Evaluation partner: contracted to support IDEAS' work; JaRco in Ethiopia, Sambodhi in India and Health Hub in Nigeria.visit IDEAS website
