The Collective is open to any regional networks/coalitions, subnational or national coalitions and individual organizations that are either registered or not registered but originate and are involved in RMNCAH work in any of the African countries.
JOINING CRITERIA
Membership as a coalition or as individual organizations
The MamaYe Collective is a collection of grassroots/national level organizations who come together with a shared RMNCAH goal. These can be a legally registered entity or a loose network but with some form of governance structure in place. The composition of such coalitions may include but is not limited to civil society organizations, government, community leaders and media.
Individal organizations legally registered as a single entity and operate in the RMNCAH space interventions either at national or sub national level within their country of origin can join the Collective as members. Such organizations must have clear governance structures and their operations aligned with the Collective objectives.
However, membership of individual organizations limits participation to the Collective in certain aspects, such as election and high-level decisions. Therefore, it is encouraged that an organization locates and joins a particular coalition/network within their geographies that can then apply with to be a member of the collective.
Exclusion criteria
- An independent individual without an affiliation with an organization or coalition.
- An organization or coalition whose objectives do not align with the collective objectives.
- An organization or coalition whose reputation is questionable even if their objectives align with that of the Collective.
