Ownership of evidence builds political will behind Tanzania's Sharpened One Plan
In this case study, we recount how Evidence for Action (E4A) Tanzania participated in the mid-term review of Tanzania’s Health Sector Strategic Plan, in partnership with the Reproductive and Child Health Section of the Ministry of Health (MoH), the H4+ partners, SIDA USAID, and JHPIEGO.
We discuss how our country team led on the qualitative component of the review, which included training 16 members of MoH staff in data collection. In this case study we describe the efforts and results from this process. The launch of the Sharpened One Plan and the National RMNCH scorecard took place in May 2014.
This case study is part of our book, MamaYe Evidence for Action Stories of Change: Selected Case Studies. Through illustrative case studies, we describe how Evidence for Action - MamaYe has strategically combined evidence with advocacy and accountability activities in six countries, across Africa, and globally.
