The MPDSR scorecard tracks key maternal and perinatal death indicators in all the secondary health facilities in Lagos state from January to March 2019
Based on the scorecard overall outcome, The Lagos State Accountability Mechanism for Maternal and Newborn Health- LASAM asks the State Ministry of Health to:
- encourage facilities to increase the number of maternal and perinatal death reviews
- ensure that facilities regularly give notification of all maternal and perinatal deaths to the DSNO's
- ensure that facilities emphasize the use of standardized protocols for patient management of obstetric heamorrhage, hypertensive disorder in pregnancy and birth asphyxia
- encourage the development of a holistic behavioral change communication program for timely reporting of patients to the health facilities
