2018
This scorecard is a reflection of Maternal and Newborn Health indices in Lagos state from January to June, 2018

The Data used is an extraction from DHIS2, District Vaccination Data management Tool - DVDMT (immunization- using state population), Lagos Bureau of statistics (population data)

From the scorecard indicators, There are consistent progress trend in some maternal and newborn health indicators in some Public Health Facilities in the state.

Still, LaSAM is advocating for the Lagos State Government to:

  • Create a specific budget line item in 2019 for Routine Immunization (RI) in the Primary Health Care Board budget to facilitate sustained regular outreaches by the PHCs especially for the hard to reach areas so as to increase RI coverage in the state
  • Release the Family Planning budget allocation in the Lagos state PHC Board 2018 on time to procure FP consumables, as that will significantly remove current financial barriers from the most vulnerable women accessing modern FP contraception
  • Implement the Lagos state Health Insurance Scheme with its basic defined Minimum Package of Primary Health Care services

The scorecard was produced by the Lagos State Accountability Mechanism for Maternal and Newborn Health (LaSAM) in August 2018 with support from E4A-MamaYe
